Big Meg One – Primer 7 – Necropolis

In the seventh and final mega episode of our Judge Dredd Megazine Primer series Eli and Conrad are looking at some classic Dredd adventures to learn more about the Lawman of the Future. We’ve reached the end of our primer series, and we’ll close it out with some VERY recent events in the world of Judge Dredd, the Necropolis mega-event! This epic once more changes the face of Mega-City One, introduces new characters and re-defines others, and sets up Dredd-world stories for years to come! After this we’ll at last be ready for the Megazine itself!

Big Meg One – Primer 6 – The Apocalypse War

In the sixth mega episode of our Judge Dredd Megazine Primer series Eli and Conrad are looking at some classic Dredd adventures to learn more about the Lawman of the Future. This episode we’re talking about one of the most significant events in Judge Dredd’s recent past, The Apocalypse War! The Apocalypse War is a huge deal in Dredd history, a conflict that was the culmination of several different stories before it that changed the landscape of MC-1 forever. The Judges are feeling the after effects years later, plus it let all the current Dredd characters team up together, and created a great long-term Dredd villain.

  • The Apocalypse War

Big Meg One – Primer 5 – Chopper

In the second mega episode of our Judge Dredd Megazine Primer series Eli and Conrad are looking at some classic Dredd adventures to learn more about the Lawman of the Future. This episode we’re talking about one of Judge Dredd’s greatest enemies, Marlon Shakespere, aka Chopper. Though with Chopper it’s more like Dredd is one of his greatest villains! He’s a great example of a citizen of mega city one, and he has a citizen story. One where Judge Dredd actually plays a minimal role. When Chopper’s there he’s the star, and Dredd exists as one of any number of Mega-City One Judges out to get him.

  • Unamerican Graffiti
  • The Midnight Surfer
  • Oz (excerpts)
  • Song of the Surfer (excerpts)

Big Meg One – Primer 4 – Judge Anderson

In the fourth mega episode of our Judge Dredd Megazine Primer series Eli and Conrad are looking at some classic Dredd adventures to learn more about the Lawman of the Future.  we’re talking about one of Judge Dredd’s greatest allies, and his direct opposite, Psi Judge Cassandra Anderson! In the last primer we met Judge Anderson as she fought against Judge Death, but I wanted to get into some of her solo adventures here. For the record this is jumping the gun a little bit, as we won’t get an Anderson story for a few years in the Megazine, but I like the character a lot, and once she arrives in the Meg she’s there pretty constantly, so might as well cover it!

Big Meg One – Primer 3 – Judge Death

In the third mega episode of our Judge Dredd Megazine Primer series Eli and Conrad are looking at some classic Dredd adventures to learn more about the Lawman of the Future. This episode we’re focusing on one of Judge Dredd’s greatest opponents, Judge Death! Generally when Dredd defeats someone they end up dead or in prison, and it’s extremely rare for someone to make a repeat appearance. As an immortal personification of death from an alternate dimension, Judge Death is the exception to that rule. Also Conrad makes a pretty big mistake with a key Dredd quote, TWICE!

  • Judge Death
  • Judge Death Lives
  • Four Dark Judges
